Martins West

I'm sorry, I do not have any photos from last night's dining experience. It was too dark for my iPhone 3G to take anything decent.

Why did we choose Martins West? Scotch Eggs!  If you haven't the pleasure before, you need to. This was our first time trying them. My roommate found them online last week and our interest was sparked.
"A Scotch egg consists of a shelled hard-boiled egg, wrapped in a sausage meat mixture, coated in breadcrumbs, and deep-fried. Scotch eggs are commonly eaten cold, typically with salad and pickles." Wikipedia
We enjoyed them fresh from the fryer. Martins has a different take on them. When they arrived they were much smaller than a chicken egg. We inquired with the bartender, he told us they were quail eggs. Interesting!

For dinner, I had the Fish and Chips. Ale battered Pacific Cod and Tandoori Season French Fries. I'm a huge fan of fish and chips. Anytime I'm at one of my favorite restaurants in Monterey, I always order it. I wasn't too sure about the Tandoori seasoning but I'm always game for something new. It turned out really good. The flavor was good and the batter was nice and crisp.

Along with dinner I enjoyed a Ten FIDY. If you enjoy Guinness, give Ten FIDY a try. It is dark and thick, with 10.5 ABV. You won't know it until you have finished it and try to stand up.
